A. ATTACHED OR SINGLE? Ball and Chain

B: BEST FRIENDS? You all know who you are!  But top choice would be Freddy.

C: CAKE OR PIE? Cake. Chocolate cake.
D: DAY OF CHOICE? Saturday. Freddy's home and I get to feel like a person, not so much a mom, for the day and on our Saturday night date.

H: HOMETOWN? Orange County. El Toro, then Mission Viejo.
I: FAVORITE INDULGENCE? Milk chocolate covered strawberries.  Oooo daddy!
J: JANUARY OR JULY? That's hard. January is nice cause you feel like you're getting a fresh start with the new year, and July because of the sun and sand. California just has a fun feeling in the summer.
K: KIDS? Tre - 2 and Brooklyn - 1. They're 15 months apart. Freddy and I just couldn't keep our hands off each other!
L: LIFE ISN'T COMPLETE WITHOUT...Freddy by my side, my kids arms around my neck and dancing.

W: WORST HABIT? I bite and pick at my lower lip. (Just what you wanted to know, right?)

Hell Week

Where do I begin... Freddy's Grandmother passed away last week then found out Freddy's Mission President, from his 2 year mission in Santiago, Chile, passed away the night before. So we prepared the week for traveling and attending funerals. Turned out we could only do Grandma's, so we headed out to Utah for a family weekend. Freddy's friend, Brian Hadley, supplied our family with a cabin for all of us to crash in in Park City. (Thank you Hadley's.) We decided to make the most of it; walk around Temple Square, see sites, visit friends, etc. The first night we were there, Tre was running wild up an down the hallway with his cousin, Thor. Being the graceful kid he is he ran straight into a doorway. Nasty bruise on his eye; looks like we socked him. Come Sunday night, the funeral was on Monday, Tre started vomiting and continued through the night. It was so bad we decided to skip the funeral and just head home. About 1 hour into the drive, Brooklyn started vomiting. We decided to make a stop at Target to buy a bowl so I could sit in the back to capture their vomit when needed. Like a ticking time bomb. It got so bad, we made it about halfway and just decided to get a room, so we stayed in St. George for the night. It was a long trip home, but we made it. Our house is draped in blankets in case a child decides to "explode."

On a good note, we were able to see extended family, go to temple square and Freddy got to snowboard one day. We played Rock Band a lot and the kids got to all play together. So we actually had a pretty good time. But if you haven't gotten your kids their flu shots yet, I'd highly recommend it...

Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful day at Temple Square.
Cute picture of the boys.
Me and Kati being re-tawwded.
Looking down at the temple. There were brides everywhere!
It was cold and the only jacket Brooklyn had was a little bunny jacket. Cute girl...
In the Legacy theater, they are now showing an amazing movie on the life of Joseph Smith. The kids were running around like crazy, so Freddy was kind enough to take them out for me so I could enjoy it. Toward the end, Amy Kay brought over a box of tissues since she saw that I was basket case. Her, Kati and I really enjoyed it. Can you tell by our red eyes in the picture?
Tre's shiner!! It actually got worse than this! We Kuhn's play hard!!

The cousins...
Brooklyn with baby Soda.
They had a family potluck with all of Freddy's extended cousins, aunts and uncles so it was nice to see everyone then since we had to miss the funeral. (This picture doesn't even show how many people were there. Crazy.)
Poor Tre, slumped on the couch. He was so week, poor little guy. But Woody was there to keep him company.

"The Phaaaaantom of the Op-er-a is there..."

It was Freddy's idea to get everbody together to go see a matinee of "The Phantom" this past Saturday. It was a great performance and we had a great time. If you haven't seen it, it's a love story about a stalker who lives behind this girls mirror...well...I don't wanna spoil it for you!
My brother and sister-in-laws. (Spencer, Reta, Moe, Amy, Kati, Todd and Freddy.)

Freddy's love of art!

A Brief History...

If you missed it, I made kind of like a documentary of my mom's life for her 60Th birthday party. One of the hardest things I've ever taken on, but totally worth it in the end. Anyway, I scanned tons of pictures for it and here are a few I love. Enjoy!

Mary Ellen and "Buster"; my mom's parents in their element. I hadn't seen this before so it was fun to find! Mid 1940's I believe??
This is when my mom and dad were first dating. She's 17 or 18, and he's 25 in this picture.

Married '67.

40 years later, and more beautiful and in love than ever!!

Awww...who's that cute girl. Topless...that's the way I roll!

Humor was not an option in our family.

Dorthy and Glinda.

This is our Brooke Shields impression. Check out those rad 80's jeans and mom's Dorthy Hamell haircut. Hot!

Dancing was in our blood from the beginning. My tendu efface devant needs some help!If you want more, you'll have to check out my mom's movie sometime. Good stuff!

Snowbird

The past 2 weeks have been insane!! Two weekends ago we went to the sand dunes. That following Thursday was my mom's party. The day after we drove to Vegas to see my nephew Garrett get baptised. The next day we drove to Utah to snowboard at Snowbird. We brought our niece, Kyra and picked up our other niece Ella on the way. Crazy, crazy, crazy! We met up with Spencer, Freddy's brother, and his family there. We went at the perfect time!! The night we showed up, we had a big snow storm so the snow was total powder the next day. And no one was there because it's Spring. But I guess Utah's been getting a lot of snow this year. They have daycare, so we went out from 9-4. Super fun!

We had lent out my snow gear to some deacons a year ago, since I was pregnant and wasn't gonna board anytime soon. It was returned all dirty and scuffed up which ticked me off. I didn't realize till this trip that they broke the prongs my boots, too. So I was a little ticked the whole trip. Moral of the story? Don't lend your crap out to deacons.

We didn't buy the kids snow stuff since they're just gonna grow out of it before next year, but we also didn't realize how freakin' cold it was gonna be.

I totally suck. But it's super fun. So I'm determined to get really good at it!

Spencer and Reta.

We borrowed snow stuff from my friend Lindsay. Daycare took them out everyday.

This reminds me of A Christmas Story. "I can't put my arms down!!"

My niece Ella.

Kyra.

Amber.

Kaela.

We visited my friend Lindsay and her family. They're expecting their first girl after 3 boys. She's so little. She's got 7 weeks to go. I hate her!

Good times at Snowbird!

Surprise!!!

We've been planning my mom's surprise 60th birthday party for about a year! A lot of work, but it totally paid off! All of my mom's closest friends came and we had a great night! We held it at a Holiday Inn with a DJ, an awesome dinner and dancing. Needless to say, I think my mom felt really special that night.

Monica and me waiting for our mom to come in. We told her there was a Usana business that night. It felt like forever before she came in!

The big arrival.

The theme of the party was "Start Spreading the News!" It had a Hollywood decor.

We played "New York, New York" when she came in.

Close friends of many years came.

My dad did a great job conducting everything. He always go above and beyond.

Rene, basically our adopted sister, came a long way to party!

Mom's ballroom instructor, Joe, came and helped mom show off her skills.

Dad sang, "I've Got You Under My Skin." Very sweet.

This was taken after a couple of hours of dancing.

Rick and Monica. Rick was able to help out with a movie I made for her. I wouldn't have happened without him.

Funky lad-uhs...

Happy Birthday, mom! Glad you had fun!
