And It Starts!!!

I came downstairs this morning to find my son playing in the fireplace! He was covered in ash and smearing it where ever he saw fit! My heart just about stopped! I guess he figured it was an indoor sand box. I grabbed him and threw him in the bath tub while I frantically cleaned up the mess. Luckily it cleaned up fine, but I guess now would be the time to invest in some child proofing around the house! (I would have gotten a picture but I was too horrified to stop and appreciate the humor.) If anyone has any glorified horror stories with kids and trouble, please tell me in the comment section so I don't feel like such an idiot!

God Bless Us, Every One...

Merry Christmas all! We had a very sweet first Christmas in our new house! It was very simple but the kids are still only 23 months and 8 months. We are excited for next year because we think Tre will finally understand the concept of "Santa." We had my parents over Christmas Eve. They hadn't seen the house yet since they had just returned from a 3 week trip to China the day before. They were such good sports considering their jet lag. I made a small dinner and we watched "Christmas Vacation", a family favorite. I get a kick out of my dad laughing and wheezing on parts of the movie he's heard a million times. We did our tradition of pajamas the night before. I got Tre "Lightning McQueen" jammies (he's really into CARS) and Brooklyn some pink leopard skin ones. They were very cute.

We woke Tre up about 7am. I guess we should enjoy that since I'm sure the time will get earlier and earlier as the kids get older.

He crawled downstairs to see what Santa brought.

It was really cute because he didn't even see the Christmas presents. He was too excited to see that Papa was still here from the night before and ran straight over to him with a squeal!

We got them their own chairs. A princess chair for Brooklyn and a CARS chair for Tre. (Do you sense a theme???)

Nana and Papa brought us great gifts from China. Were it not for them our tree wouldn't have been as decorated with presents. Thanks, Nana and Papa! You made it special!

That night we ended up going over to Freddy's oldest brother Spencer's house. We had intended to go over to Moe's house, one of his other brothers, but his wife Amy ending up delivering their new daughter, Soda Paisley, on Christmas day! Congratulations Amy and family! Spencer and Reta were kind enough to offer up their house at last minute. With tons of nieces and nephews, it a big sacrifice! When we got there Tre found the toy shopping cart and strolled Brooklyn around. It was hilarious!

Spencer had bought the new XBOX 360 game "Rock Band." It was really fun. I was impressed with every ones skills! It was fun actually hearing my husband sing by himself. Impressive!

My sisters-in-law Sondra and Reta. We missed everyone else! Freddy is 8 out of 9 kids so a lot of siblings and cousins were missing. It wasn't the same but it sure was a bit quieter than normal.

It's always the best part of the day to come home to your new toys. We were very blessed to have a healthy happy Christmas!

We're Home!!!

We're finally in! The house is so overwhelming. I don't know what to do other than get on my knees and thank the Lord for this amazing blessing for our family. My husband has worked so hard to supply this for us. I truly married the most amazing man.
We moved in Wednesday, and when I say moved in I mean moved bags and boxes from our condo to here. Nothing is really put away yet. One of the first things we did was put up the tree and set the fire place. And for the first time last night, Freddy and I got to sit in front of our own fireplace. It was surreal. It will be a long time until walls are painted and furniture is purchased, but for right now I'm just enjoying the space...and my jetted tub. (I really had to talk Freddy into that one!) These pictures really don't give it justice. So I guess everyone we love will just have to come and check it out themselves. Eventually I'll do a tour with our our camera and we'll just blog that. There's no place like home!!

One of my favorite features... a kids playroom so mom can take a breath!

Preparing for Christmas. The Grandparents will be joining us.

Kids and Moving...Don't Mix the Two!!!

You wanna see what I'm dealing with? A condo 1000 sq. ft., 2 babies under the age of 2, boxes and bags full of our stuff, and a mom about to lose it! I kept a box of toys out that I didn't pack for the kids; good thing since our new house didn't close til today. (Actually, I think we're still waiting for the word.) We were supposed to move in last Friday. We're still waiting for the ok to move in. The toys won't stay put away for 2 minutes, and Tre keeps digging through everything. Brooklyn's on the verge of crawling. I hope she'll hold out for a couple of days until we get settled in. AHHHH! My little piece of heaven is my sister-in-law Katie who is seriously the best person in the world. She's helped me pack, helped with kids, kept me a bit sane in the moving process. She's always so willing to help with everything! And on top of it, I'm still teaching and choreographing this week. (My girls go to competition soon!) So my sanity is hanging on by a thread. I'm glad my husband doesn't mind the messiness going on! Or if he minds, he's being awesome about not getting on my case about it. Pray we'll get in soon!

Tre and Brooklyn...Baby Talk!

I've been having so much fun watching Tre and Brooklyn lately. They have this fun, unspoken bond. Tre gets so excited when he sees Brooklyn trying to communicate with him. They make each other laugh. In the car today, Tre spent the whole time laughing just to get Brooklyn to laugh.(There's no better sound then that.) Or he'll come over while I'm holding her and put his head on her or give her a hug. I never ask him to do it. He usually just does it out of the blue.

Yesterday, I was going a bit nuts with packing up for our move, so I put both of them in their room ; Tre in the crib and Brooklyn in her port a crib. They were both crying and not having it. I needed to lie down since Brooklyn had kept me up a bit the night before but they were making sure that wasn't gonna happen. I seriously had had it and was about to scream into my pillow so I said a little prayer for strength and patience. Literally after the prayer I heard Tre giggling followed by Brooklyn cooing and giggling right back at him. I just started laughing. So I laid there listening to their baby conversation to each other for a few minutes. I won't have these moments for long so I have to cherish them while I can!

We're Moving!

It's done!! Isn't it beautiful! And we're so excited to move. The inside is just as beautiful and we can't wait to have everyone come over to hang at the Kuhn house. Of course, it won't be furnished for a long time, but worth the space with the kids and all. Our move in date: December 14th, 2007.
